Taoyuan's highway, train, MRT, and high-speed rail (HSR) systems boast the highest density of transportation network in Taiwan.
From HSR, MRT to highway, and the first Taoyuan International Airport MRT line runs through 3 municipalities with full 4G services, the transportation network will provide rapid and convenient flow of workforce, goods, capital and information. Along with grand Taoyuan Science and Technology Park and Taipei, Hsinchu Science Park, the Taoyuan International Airport can even rapidly bridges twin East Asia economic areas within 3 hours. Under industry policy of the government, a new strategy linking regions is to be fulfilled and Taoyuan will develop into a technology corridor in northern Taiwan thus realizing a splendid future.
Taoyuan International Airport, Taiwan's central hub for air travel, has demonstrated exceptional performance since its inception. Passenger volume and the number of take-offs and landings have both increased year-on-year, with passenger volume predicted to reach approximately 60 million passengers by the year 2030. In addition, Taoyuan is designated to become a Free Economic Pilot Zone (FEPZ), which will further expand its cargo handling capacity and scale of commerce. Without a doubt, Taoyuan International Airport is a globally-oriented airport with a strong competitive capacity. Given the existing strengths of Taoyuan International Airport, Taoyuan Aerotropolis, which combines the airport with a seaport, will undoubtedly create new business opportunities. Whether it's the Taipei Port Container Center, whose construction was financed through a BOT model, or the already completed 93.7 hectare reclamation region, which currently includes the Eastern Dock District (79 hectares), the Northern Dock District, and the Taipei Port Free Trade Zone (around 14.7 hectares), one thing is clear—Taoyuan is poised to become a shipping and transportation center for both air and sea cargo. With its exceptional geographic location and rich potential for further development, Taoyuan is not only the ideal location for both domestic and international industries moving goods in and out of Asia, it is more importantly a meeting place for global businesses to gather.
